My 1987 325E bmw runs at a rough idle. I have to play with the air flow to get it stay runing, some times I dont have to use the screw driver to help it get air. I have replaced the OS sensor and the idle control moter and module. THIS IS AN INTERMITENT PROBLEM MEANING DOESNT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. Please help this cars tags are expired by 5 YEARS because it wont pass smog.
Running through the BMW TIS CD's it tells me your symptoms could be coming from irregularities of fuel. You may want to check your fuel pump for pressure delivery.
I had an old 84 320 that revved to high becuase of an airline disconnected. Check that as well.
Hope this helps solve it.

Kigerka to the rescue!
With the knowledge of the BMW SDK CD at his disposal :)
If you want a good parts cd you can download them at bmw parts cd (http://crass.on.ru/bmw/etk/). IT is Nov 2004 so it is pretty good. They also have a TIS CD but it is nov 03 so pretty old.

how do i find the tis cd?
TIS (http://crass.on.ru/bmw) This link will give you all kinds of stuff. There is a parts price list TIS and other things.
If you go on ebay there are auctions for newer versions then this one.

do I use the adobe acrobat reader to run the 07.2004 file?
The file is a .rar file. You need winrar to open it. Like winzip only better. After that you burn the image file on to a disc using Nero. After that you just install teh program.

Hey Kigerka,
the contents of that link show the following:
two subfolders called "Disk1" and "Disk2", in each sub-folder the contents show the following:
a file called "label"
and
a file called "price.1" and "price.2" respectively. I tried renaming them as .exe files so I could execute them and nothing happened. Any help on that?
PS - I used a program called WinAce to unzip the .rar filetype.
WinAce will do the job. However I could not get the price list to load. You are suppossed to decompress the file, go to sys admin and load the database and you point sysadmin in the right direction and it is supposed to load. However, I haven't been able to get it to work.
I am sorry for that but I don't control the site.
You can go to bmwportal.com and they have a parts cd loaded to there site. Works pretty good but not like the discs

yeah... I think I'm going to have to give up on that. Plus the site's in Russian! I don't have a way to translate it either. I tried Google, and they don't have Russian to English yet, and Babelfish didn't work either.

I found a great translator that translates ful paragraphs at downloads.com called Im Translator for IE but you have to be on the internet to use it. I used it ro translate that Russian web site.

Hey,
Try eliminating some possibilities.
I had a 325i and one of the steps I took to solve the problem was replacing some of the Fuel preasure hoses that go towards the engine.
That rough idle was soon eliminated after that.
I bought high preasure hoses from a regular auto parts store like Autozone.
Do you have electronic injection?
