WHATS UP PEOPLE, I HAVE A 2001 740 IL AND WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DECK SPEAKERS SOUNDING DISTORTED OR BLOWN WHEN YOU TURN [/SIZE] THE VOLUME UP.. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO BASS AT ALL!!

I WOULD BE BETTER OFF BANGING ON THE DASH BOARD TO CREATE SOME SORT OF BASS..TRUTHFULLY THE SPEAKER(BASS) SYSTEM IN THIS CAR IS A PIECE OF CRAP IN MY ONPINION. AND YES I DO HAVE THE UPGRADED DSP IN THE CAR..

MY QUESTION IS WHAT CAN I DO BESIDES GETTING A BASSLINK OR ANY OTHER SORT OF AFTERMARKET ENHANCER???

ARE MY SPEAKERS BLOWN AND JUST DON'T KNOW IT??

LET ME KNOW WHAT'S THE DEAL HERE PEOPLE......

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES.!

Honesly, the 7 is the flagship of the BMW line up. I have found that usually BMW stereos are pretty sweet as is stock, and there's no way they'd put crappy no base speakers in a 7.

Your speakers may be blown... do you hear a sort of "whishing winds" warble when you turn up the volume? If yes, then they're blown for SURE.

If no, maybe the speaker wires have come loose in the back. I'd pop the trunk and try and take a look at what's going on back there.

here is what i would do,1st retain your original factory head unit, put some aftermarket amplifiers,w passive x-overs on all your factory speakers, now then tell me how good it sounds,i think the 12 speaker dsp system needs to be configured on a 6-channel amp,use jl- audio, soundstream, alpine or whatever your preference may be,if you need further assistance call me at Precision auto sound 818-999-6511

I think the life of your speakers has came to end. So change it.
