toad alarm

hi everyone, does anyone know why my alarm wont work, its a toad sigma alarm, i just replaced the batteries in the key, but now the car wont lock or do anythin when i use the key, it worked fine before, the car is a bmw e30 320i convertible, if it makes any difference, is there a need to program or syncronise the key with the alarm because i changed the battery, any help would be much appreciated,

You probably need to re assign the remote to the alarm for it to function.

How it can be re-assign? My friend is having the same problem.
