Anybody out there know the differences between the BMW 323is and the 323isa? I have a 1998 323isa and I was wondering what the "a" stood for?

Thanks,
Dave

dls322,

is there an "a" after the trunk badge "323is"? I have never seen or heard of that before. People often add their own abreviations for a more personal touch to their signature. Example, many people on the BMW compact board write "318tia" in their signatures to signify an automatic transmission. However, BMW never put the letter "a" on the trunk badge of a 318ti. My 2 cents. -Jerry

The 'a' is not an official BMW designation. In ads where people are selling BMWs the 'a' is used to denote that the car has an automatic transmission.
