View Full Version : Beginning mods
Hi everyone, kind of new here. I am considering some modifications to enhance the ultimate driving experience. I have a 2002 330Ci with the M Sport Package. First off, I'd like to address the shifter. I used to have a M roadster and I find the throws on the 330Ci impossibly long! I've heard good things about B and M's stage 3 short shift kit, but I also heard that some kits increase shift efforts. That being the case, the AC Schntizer kit was recommended by another source. Now, I would love to have the ACS kit, however, at $1200 CDN, compared to 344.95 CDN for the B&M kit, I wonder, is it worth it?
Any thoughts?
I have the UUC Motorwerks evo 3 short shift kit and it's GREAT! It's not too expensive, and I bought it because it came highly recommended from many bimmer owners I know.
I bought it from KO Performance (www.koperformance.com) (http://www.koperformance.com/bmw.html) , one of the sponsors of this site.

I got the UUC evo 3 kit from koperformance also. Most ssk's need more effort to shift but the shifts get more precise. You'll get use to the shifting in no time. Never read any reviews on the b&m ssk.
Thanks for your replies. I've gone ahead and ordered a B&M stage 3 SSK. I got it on eBay for $170USD including shipping. That comes out to around $240CDN. So I'm saving a bit of money there. Anyways, If you guys want to see a comparison between the UUC kit and the B&M kit, you can go to bmracing.com. If you go to the BMW 330Ci manual shifters section, it's part number 45126. THere is a comparo there.
Cheers.
